Street Child: ending

streetchild_After being fast asleep for a few hours with a lovely dream, Jim suddenly woke up. While trying to open his heavy sleepy eyes, he stood up with a sudden fright. He saw a tall dark figure approaching him.

“Who is it!” Jim called, nervously.

“Get up!” the figure bellowed loudly.

Jim struggled to his feet. As the figure got closer, he saw a strong man. “Who are you and how did you get in?” the man said in a strange old man`s voice. Jim didn’t recognize the voice. It was a deep voice. Then he noticed that the strange figure was Lame Betsy’s dad! He was considered very old, in his late 50’s.With rough, scratchy clothes.

“You don’t belong here!” The man was more firm. His voice was louder than earlier. ”Some one like you should go to my great friend nick ,grimy Nick!” he meanly.

The very next morning, the worried boy woke with a fright. He was in the back of a horse drawn carage on the country side with Lame Betsy on the left and her dad on the right.

“Where are we going Betsy?” Jim whispered as quietly as possible so her dad didn`t hear. Betsy just stared at him which gave Jim a hint. Then every thing click into his mind as fast as an Olympic athlete who won a gold medal. He knew he had to try and escape somehow!  At the moment, he thought of the escape route, so when they arrived, he was going to escape immediately. They arrived at the house. Then when he saw the massive house and Grimy Nick, he wished he had escaped earlier. Grimy Nick wore smart clothes and looked very mean; he was early 60’s close to Betsy’s dad’s age.

“Come on let me show you around.” Grimy Nick said, grinning  and when the doors shut he became very mean.

“Get into that cage NOW” he growled, without hesitating.

That night he slept in a cage with Grimy Nick’s two vicious dogs. The meanest near Jim`s  bed and the strongest next to the door. The dogs were not on leads. When both dogs were fast asleep, Jim saw a tiny gap next to the door,  he carefully  tip-toed out of the bed. He knew he could fit through and squeezed through the gap, hardly making a sound. When he made it through, he heard footsteps coming down. ‘Grimy Nick,’ he muttered to himself. He raced to a nearby bush, but Grimy Nick saw him and he put the fastest dog on him. “You are too much work, there is a nearby orphanage and it is perfect for you,” he said with a evil grin, whilst looking at him with a smile.

That morning, woke up in a automobile in the heart of London. “Ahh, there it is,” Jim stared at the old house . It looked fine and went in and then saw  everyone at work. Violent Victoria the head of the house, was there too. Riya
